We’re looking forward to talking with you at the expo and hope you stop by the ShowingTime booth (#4015), but also realize you’ll be looking to explore Chicago while you’re here.
With that in mind, we’ve asked some of our employees for their favorite things to do around the city. Here’s what they had to say:
“If you’re into the outdoors and nature, visit Lurie Garden at Millennium Park. I love it for the always-changing display of native perennials. Also, the Museum of Contemporary Art on Michigan Avenue is always a cool spot.”
– Anna, product team
“If you have a free afternoon, stop in the Palm Court at the Drake Hotel for Afternoon Tea. It’s a beautiful atmosphere in a historic hotel and they have a lot of tea, sandwiches and pastries to choose from!”
– Katie, product team
“I’d highly recommend Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinder, a [somewhat] hidden pizza gem in Lincoln Park. There’s often a wait, but the pizza pot pie is well worth it!”
– Marina, marketing team
“The tiki bar themed drinks at Three Dots and a Dash in River North are a lot of fun!”
– Stacy, marketing team
“If you like BBQ and a funky atmosphere, Green Street Smoked Meats is a must-visit.”
– Grace, product team
“For a drink with a view, Cindy’s at the Chicago Athletic Club Hotel is the place to go. Go during the day for the best view. And make sure to stop by Cloud Gate “the Bean” for a selfie afterward!”
– Andrea, marketing team
“High Five Ramen, because who doesn’t want a high five. Fine print: get the half spice! You will thank me later!”
– Damon, product team
“The Publican is an eclectic West Loop restaurant serving interesting organ meats and charcuterie trays along with classic dishes like mussels, chicken and more. The for-real pork rinds are a must, which pair well with an Orval Trappist Ale.”
– Tom, marketing team
“Unwind after a long day at the expo by taking in a show and having a few drinks at The Second City, the go-to comedy place in a city famous for it.”
– Cash, marketing team
