On Aug. 13, 2019, more than 100 leaders from MLSs and associations gathered at the Hyatt Regency Chicago for the fourth annual ShowingTime Executive Forum. There, attendees were joined by ShowingTime CEO Scott Woodard, President Michael Lane, CIO Bill Kellogg and senior staff from the product development and sales teams, who gave a detailed look at the latest ShowingTime offerings, including a sneak preview of upcoming features.

ShowingTime Business Update

Following an introduction by Woodard, Lane kicked off the day’s discussions with the ShowingTime Business Update, which included a recognition of ShowingTime’s growth in the last year, including the recent 300 millionth showing milestone, ShowingTime’s growth in Canada and the launch of premium ShowingTime products, including ShowingTime Live Connect.

ShowingTime Technology Review

Lane then gave the floor to Kathleen Bohanon, director of MLS accounts, and Mike Caputo, director of product management, for the ShowingTime technology review. Bohanon and Caputo began their presentation with an overview of the host of resources available to ShowingTime users to help them master ShowingTime products. Next, the pair highlighted new feature enhancements, like the new Assisting Agent option (available for users of the ShowingTime Appointment Center in some markets) and new messaging options. The review of new features concluded with an overview of Home by ShowingTime, which allows home buyers and sellers who are working with an agent using ShowingTime to remain better informed on the status of showings.

Next on the agenda: new ShowingTime products. Leading off the overview was ShowingTime’s new live call answering and real-time message delivery product, ShowingTime Live Connect. ShowingTime Secure Access, which utilizes Bluetooth technology for enhanced security and quicker access to homes, was also highlighted. ShowingTime Secure Access adds a layer of control to home access by leveraging showing appointment information while also making it easy for agents to show homes. Secure Access is available for all ShowingTime showing products as a premium feature. Rounding out the discussion was a look at practical applications for ShowingTime’s MarketView Broker recruiting tool.

An Executive Case Study: A Practical Application of Stats & MarketStats Annual Reports

In the next segment, Senior Account Executive Franny Skamser Lewis presented her analysis of how data obtained from ShowingTime’s MarketStats can be applied to inform important decisions based on accurate market conditions. Using MarketStats, Skamser Lewis tracked how a housing moratorium in effect from Jan. 2018 – Feb. 2019 in trendy Bainbridge Island, WA affected the housing market – and assessed the data-driven recommendations that a MarketStats user in that area could provide for a client.

Next on the Roadmap

Exciting new ShowingTime solutions are on the horizon, and many of them were on display at the Executive Forum. ShowingTime product managers previewed these upcoming products and features with attendees, using the opportunity to engage with leaders and learn more about their needs and the needs of their members. The day finished with dinner and drinks at the Chicago Yacht Club, where attendees were flanked by picturesque views of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan.
